The first weekend in September we went camping with some friends from church.
I actually should say, Eric and the big kids went camping and Adeline and I joined them for a day trip.

Adeline and I headed to the camp site first thing in the morning. We had a blast riding bikes- the first time in years.
Right before going on a hike, this happened... don't worry the tree was okay, the only damage was done below and to the grumpy husband (driver) not in the picture.
The gloomy mood from the car incident bled into the mood of the hike.
She was the only one open to smiling
After plenty of fussing from Audrey and Elliott, we made it to the light house, only to find out that Elliott was too short to go up to the top (more grumps).
We found an awesome little water front spot to hangout mid-way through the hike.
It brightened spirits slightly, but only slightly...
... and not enough to help the walk back
Much fussing happened. It was actually humorous and awful all at the same time
We did make it back to the site to sit, relax, and refresh.
Adeline took lots of steps that weekend
More biking riding happened...
and lot of eating too!
All in all, it was well worth it and precious time with each other!
